Executive President of Mainia Youth Forum, Shahzada Sayeed Mashuk Mainuddin Al Hasani Maizbhandari inaugurated the ‘Countrywide Tree Plantation Programme 2023’ on 20th January 2023 in Gazipur. He said, “Climate change is the biggest threat to human existence. Reduction of carbon emissions, and decreasing the use of fossil fuels are the keys to resisting climate change. We urge global leaders to implement the ‘Paris Climate Agreement’. Besides our duty is to plant more and more trees. Since its inception in 2013, Mainia Youth Forum emphasised the environmental issue and we’ve been taking tree plantation programmes. In December 2021 MYF achieved the worthy ‘Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2020’ for its contribution to the field of environmental conservation, tree plantation, and climate change action given by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Government of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh organised on the occasion of ‘Dhaka: OIC Youth Capital of the year 2020’. MYF distributed around 50,000 plants in 2021-22 and aspires to extend its activities for climate change action, the green world movement in the upcoming days. MYF will arrange seminars in Universities, introduce the ‘Plastic Free Society Movement’, ‘Sewage Cleaning Programme to Resist Waterlogging’ etc.”
