A successful Women’s Health, Awareness, and Rights Program was organized under the initiative of Mainia Youth Forum in the Sonargaon, Narayanganj. The campaign was held under the guidance and instructions of the President of the organization, aiming to promote women’s rights, dignity, education, and social awareness.
In his speech as the main speaker at the awareness program on women’s safety and rights, Abu Sayeed Mohammad Salek, Narayanganj District President, said that he demanded to ensure gender equality in both the government and private sectors, as well as increase women’s employment, ensure the physical, mental and environmental well-being of women and girls, advance women’s right to education, and work for poverty reduction among women. Mohammad Salek also said that we must work together socially to stop the dowry system in the society. He discussed the issue of making everyone aware of the terrible effects of child marriage, etc.
At the awareness program on women’s safety and rights, the discussion was chaired by Hazrat Ali, President of the Mainia Youth Forum Naogaon Union. Masum Mia, President of the Mainia Youth Forum Kaliganj, Khairun Nahar, President of the Sonargaon Upazila of the Mainia Youth Forum Women’s Forum, Khadija, Amena Khatun, Josna Begum, Rahima Begum, and other women and girls of different classes and ages were present at the program.
The awareness campaign concluded successfully with the participation of around 45 womens, including adolescents, students, and middle-aged professionals. Through open discussions and community engagement, the program reinforced the importance of women’s education, social dignity, economic empowerment, and equal rights.
