On 1 June 2026, Mainia Youth Forum, Bhaluka Branch, implemented a Heatwave Relief Initiative in Bhaluka Upazila, Mymensingh District, to support vulnerable people affected by extreme heat. With an approximate project budget of BDT 5,000, the organization mobilized 10 volunteers to provide humanitarian assistance to approximately 200 beneficiaries.
The initiative focused on distributing cold drinking water, oral saline solution, and sherbet to rickshaw pullers, auto-rickshaw drivers, CNG drivers, pedestrians, and other outdoor workers who were exposed to prolonged high temperatures. The programme also promoted public awareness of hydration, heatwave safety, and preventive measures to reduce heat-related health risks.
By delivering timely assistance through volunteer-led community action, the project helped protect vulnerable individuals from the immediate impacts of extreme heat while strengthening community resilience to climate-related challenges. The initiative reflects Mainia Youth Forum’s commitment to humanitarian service, public health, and sustainable community development.
