On 5 June 2026, in observance of World Environment Day, Mainia Youth Forum, Gazipur District Branch, implemented a Tree Plantation and Sapling Distribution Programme to promote environmental conservation, climate action, and community participation in sustainable development. With an approximate project budget of BDT 40,000, the organization mobilized 20 volunteers to coordinate the planting and distribution of 1,000 tree saplings across Gazipur District.
The initiative combined practical environmental action with public awareness activities, encouraging community members to participate in afforestation and adopt sustainable environmental practices. The programme emphasized the vital role of trees in improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, reducing the impacts of climate change, and creating healthier communities for future generations.
By promoting volunteerism, environmental education, and community engagement, the project contributed to local climate resilience and demonstrated Mainia Youth Forum’s commitment to advancing environmental sustainability through inclusive, community-led action. The programme aligns with broader sustainable development efforts by fostering environmental responsibility and encouraging long-term stewardship of natural resources.
